January-February Drop-In Sessions

These sessions are for past clients who have finished our group training program OR clients looking to complete their 4th or 5th class. 

Drop-in session's are weather dependent. If it is a blizzard, high winds, bad/closed roads, temperatures below -30 degree's class will be cancelled. If you are not sure, please check back on a regular basis. It WILL be posted on this blog if it is cancelled. (and our Facebook page)

**Due to our ever changing weather conditions, it is important that you come prepared to the classes- for your selves and your dogs. Please make sure you are dressed warm, in layers, and that your dog has sweaters/jackets on if necessary. Snow pants, layers, winter gloves and waterproof shoes are suggested.**

Winter Carnival Parade Drop-In Session

This will be a fun drop in session that is REALLY going to work in desensitizing and socializing your dog! To everything from Clowns, loud noises, strollers to Decorated Floats!

Meeting Place: In front of the Court House Steps.

Bring: High Value Treats (No kibble), regular leads, training collars if necessary, jackets for dogs if necessary.

Working on: Everything possible! Socializing and Desensitizing...which is great for both Dominant and Sensitive dogs. Distraction work...and to have fun! So please bring out your family!Confidence Boosting, Distractions, manners & socialization and problem behaviour.

Working on: We will have a "drop in session setting" and then carry on to the horses. Dogs will need to learn to behave around the horses and stay calm in a moving sleigh. We will also tour around the village before the tour begins, this will allow us to get our dogs in a calm state for the Sleigh Ride.
PLEASE NOTE: All dogs MUST be on-leash for this class. ONE DOG PER PERSON. Your dog must be okay to be within 5 feet of other dogs.

More Info: This spectacular 45 minute tour meanders the back trails to the Wild Horseman's Cabin where you will enjoy delicious mug of hot chocolate and cookies.

VDACS FUNDRAISER

For the month of January we will be donating $2 to Vernon & District Animal Care Society for every dog that comes to our Drop-In Sessions. Anyone wanting to donate extra money is welcome to do so. (and very much appreciated). VDACS primary focus is spay/neuter financial assistance for low income families, and to help with feral cat populations.

VDACS personally helped us spay and neuter our feral cat population... and we really want to help "pay back". We bought our home & property Nov.8th 2014, and when we moved in we learned that we had several feral cats and a rooster. (at the time there were 4 adult cats and 2 kittens~ Mom and Kittens ended up finding a new home... but 3 adult cats still hung around 

We were so overwhelmed...and thank-ful when VDACS told us that they would spay & neuter the cats on our property as long as we trapped them and brought them back to our property.

We love our little feather & fur family, and are happy to share that the cats are slowly starting to love us back  (and the rooster too).

Annual Christmas Light Up Drop-In-FINISHED

Working on: This is a family event. We will be socializing and desensitizing our dogs to the sights and sounds of Downtown Christmas Light Up. There will be tons of distractions including large crowds, bonfires, loud noises, and horses. We will be touring up and down main street checking out the festivities.

This drop-in is best for dogs that can be within 3 feet of another dog~As dog's will be in close proximity to each other.
